The current control system for the Appenzeller Bahn was built in 2010. Since then, two redundant servers have ensured safe operation of the catenary, point heating and lighting control. After more than ten years, the equipment in the Herisau train station has to be replaced. The Appenzeller Bahn selects the required hardware itself. We only replace the control system and bring it up to date with the latest technology. The existing logic is completely adopted. In this way, costs can be saved because there is no need for staff training.
